  • Man uses iPhone to revive bird

    It’s hard to imagine a time before cell phones. Each of our phones and the apps are capable of doing just about everything. Even saving lives across species. They’re truly powerful devices.

    United kingdom tree surgeon Leon Timms identified a tiny chaffinch lying on the floor. It is thought that the actual bird flew in to the solar panels on Timms’ roofing or hit certainly one of his windows. Your bird was dazed and had trouble breathing. Thus Leon brought it directly into his home along with started to stroke the particular bird, hoping to restore it. Luckily he’d his smartphone using him.

    It could be chance, but that would seem unlikely. At least one chicken owes it’s life to this iphone app now.

    “I brought the chaffinch inside and started stroking him on my lap, and then I came up with the idea of playing it the sound of another chaffinch on my mobile phone app. I popped the app on and almost immediately the bird’s eyes opened and he seemed to become more alert … It definitely responded to the sound of another chaffinch.”


  • Sprint Galaxy Nexus Data Bug Fix Update Released

    We heard the other day, that lots users of the Sprint Galaxy Nexus have encountered problems with data on Sprint’s network. The said issue was acknowledged by Sprint and according to them, the fix is on its way!

    Now, Sprint confirmed that the update is ready, and it will be version IMM76D.L700FD002 and it will fix the data problems. The update will also has the fix for devices not displaying the correct network time after activation and also a Google Wallet update.

    Sprint also said that the update will be rolled out over at 1 to 2 day period starting from the 1st of May.


  • White Samsung Galaxy Note Lands In Canada

    Samsung has revealed that there will be a white version of the Galaxy note smartphone. In fact, it is now available in Canada, whcih has already started shipping out to retailers. It features the same thing as with the original model with a 5.3 inch Super AMOLED touchscreen display and runs Android 2.3 out of the box. An Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update is in the works for the device which is expected to land shortly. Other features include a dual core 1.4GHz processor, dual cameras, an 8 megapixel rear facing camera with an LED flash, and a front facing 2 megapixel camera for video chat.


  • LG Nitro HD Hits AT&T December 4th

    The LG Nitro HD will be on available over at AT&T on the 4th of December for $250 when you sign up to a new two year contract.

    The LG Nitro HD features a 4.5 inch HD IPS display, Android Gingerbread 2.3, a dual core 1.5GHz processor and 1GB of RAM.

    Other features include 4GB of built in storage, an 8 megapixel camera, a 1.3 megapixel camera on the front for video conferencing, and a microSD card slot.

    AT&T announced today that the white version of the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket will be available on their network on the 4th of December. It costs $249 when you sign up to a new two year service agreement.

    As a reminder, the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket is a 4G LTE enabled Android device, which features a 4.5 inch Super AMOLED Plus display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels.

    The Galaxy S II Skyrocket runs a dual core 1.5GHz processor, 16GB of built in storage, an 8 megapixel camera which can record full HD video in 1080p.


  • HTC Raider Headed To AT&T

    The HTC Raider that was announced two months ago is reportedly headed to AT&T in the US as the device has just turned up at the FCC.

    As a reminder the HTC Raid features a 4.5 inch qHD display and is powered by a dual core 1.2GHz processor

    Other features include 1GB of RAM and 16GB of built in storage, an 8 megapixel camera with a back illuminated sensor, a front facing 1.3 megapixel camera, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and HTC’s custom Sense UI.

    I wonder if this can personalized like the Rezound that has lots of HTC Rezound Accessories available online.


  • Motorola Milestone 2 Getting Android Gingerbread Update

    If you own a Motorola Milestone 2 then you will be pleased to know that Motorola has announced that this handset will get the Android Gingerbread update, and the update will be rolled out as an OTA update starting tomorrow.

    News for European Motorola Milestone 2 owners. “The upgrade to Gingergread will begin tomorrow, we will be rolling out in stages and so please watch this space for more information. Thanks!”

    It seems that the update will be rolled out by batches, though Motorola hasn’t given any information as to how long it will take to complete the roll out process to all devices.


  • Samsung Galaxy Note LTE Launched In South Korea

    The Samsung Galaxy Note was launched in Europe and in the UK months ago, and now Samsung has launched an LTE enabled version of the Galaxy Note in South Korea, that also comes with NFC. Is this their take on HTC’s Radar that’s fully customizable using HTC Radar Accessories? Maybe…

    Just so you know, the Samsung Galaxy Note comes features a 5.3 inch Super AMOLED Plus display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. It is powered by a dual core 1.4GHz processor with 1GB of RAM, an 8 megapixel camera which can record HD video in 1080p and a front facing 2 megapixel camera.

    It runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread although Samsung has plans to release an update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

    Cyborg Vision App is a new iOS app that can bring the Terminator Vision to your phonee. It has been launched on the Apple App Store this week and it uses real-time facial recognition to identify your friends and show their information on screen. It is powered by Face.com and Facebook and was developed during the first ever hackathon event Hackday.tv and won its creators Haris Amin and Richard Cameron first prize.

    The Cyborg Vision App is now available to purchase from the Apple App Store for $0.99.
